NAMSP/Colorado members are invited to attend the first annual conference of CAMLA, on Saturday, June 16th, in Loveland, Colorado.   The conference will be held at the Loveland Elks Lodge, starting at 11:00 a.m.   The Conference Schedule is as follows: 11:00 a.m.  Registration in the Lobby 12:00 Noon   Luncheon in the Dinning Room 1:00 p.m   First General Session- Delegate Assembly- Colorado Assn. of Middle Level Administrators (CAMLA)        a. Formulation of CAMLA By-laws and Constitution (Based from the NAMSP/KAMSA model)        b. Election of officers: Pres., VP, Secrectary and Treasurer        c.  Identification and Formulation of the CAMLA Board of Directors (county representatives)        d. Inclusion of CAMLA under the CASE umbrella. 5:00 p.m.  Dinner and Cocktails 7:00 p.m.  Second General Session- To finish conference business, if needed. *A conference registration fee of $20 is charged  (to cover the cost of facilities rental and luncheon costs ).  Just make your check payable to the Loveland Elks Lodge. School of the Year Award Deadline Extended

Because of our tremendous increase in membership and interest in the 2012 NAMSP/Lifetouch Award, the deadline to enter has been extended to March 1st, 2012.   The Second Annual National Award Ceremony Program is being planned for June of 2012, in Nashville, TN    As last year, finalist schools will be invited to attend, but will not be required to attend and will have their award mailed to them.   Lifetouch will still provide all placing schools with their own special PR event at their school. *All schools entered into the 2012 Award Program must have their award application/synopsis completed by 4-1-12.    Award judging will take place during April of 2012, with the 5 finalists announced in each division on this website on May 1st, 2012. **All members may complete their Award Application on line, on our website, beginning in early November.   ***Those schools that have already completed hard copy applications that have been mailed to them, do not have to reapply. ***FOR EXPRESS ENTRY....just email to Michael D. NAMSP will invoice your school, or the nominated school, the appropriate entry fee:  Charter Members $10, Regular Members $20. 4.NAMSP will mail the entry packet to the school. School Synopsis(essay) judging criterion: I. School Programs That Promote Adcademic Achievement (0 to 33 pts awarded) (*Maximum 4 page answer allowed) II. School Programs That Promote School Discipline, Student Motivation and School Climate( 0 to 33 pts. awarded) (Maximum 4 page answer allowed) III. Evidence of Sustained Effort of Improvement In Academic Achievement/Performance (0 to 33 pts. awarded)( Maimum 4 page answer allowed) IV. School Free and Reduced Lunch Percentage (used as an indicator of growth/environment). (no pts. awarded) V. NAMSP and LIFETOUCH STUDIOS Agree To Two-Year Extension

It was confirmed today by Julie Hance of Lifetouch Studios, that Lifetouch has authorized a two-year extension of the NAMSP/Lifetouch "School of The Year Award" program for both Middle School and Junior High School Divisions!   As last year, each national champion school will receive a check for $1,500.00, a foyer banner and beautiful crystal trophy!   4 Runners Up, in each division will receive a check for $500.00, a foyer banner and trophy!   This year, all national finalists, when announced later in this year, will receive a check for $100.00!
