Trying times and the woes of budget concerns is what is facing most Texas school districts, however in Marshall, Texas this is not stopping their performance.  Principal Stephanie Richard and her dedicated staff, faculty and student body have proven success can be obtained through all obstacles as Marshall Junior High recieved the honor or NAMSP School of the Year! The presentation for this recognition was held at the Marshall Junior High auditorium on April 12, 2011 at 3:30pm in front of the deserving staff and student body.  In attendance was Dr. Gearing, superintendent of schools for MISD and Board President, Helen Warwick along with Principal Richard and Curt Malone, Territory Manager for Lifetouch of East Texas. The school also received recognition from Texas Governor Rick Perry, Senator Kevin Eltife and Representative Bryan Hughes who each made a proclomation and sent a Texas flag that had flown over the state capital in Austin. Fun was had by all in attendance during the ceremony as well as the reception that followed! Congratulations Marshall Junior High........Well Done!
